Dear JVA Family,
Egor here, reaching out to wrap up what has been an incredible year at JVA. It feels like just yesterday I was joining the JVA at the start of 2023, brainstorming with Kento about what lay ahead. And wow, what a journey it's been!
2023 might seem modest at a glance – just two cohorts – but oh, the depth of experiences we've had! Behind these cohorts lie countless interactions, stories, and learning episodes. It’s been a rich tapestry of growth and development.
As we reflect on the year that has been, one word stands out:
This year, more than ever, we've seen how vital connections are - not just among our fellows, but extending to venture experts, coaches, core team members, supporters of JVA, and anyone who joins us.
We believe that true innovation springs from diverse connections. When people from varied backgrounds come together with different perspectives and experiences, the potential for groundbreaking ideas and solutions multiplies.
Let’s have a look at our achievements.
Our team has grown.
We began this year with just two members, and now our group has grown to eight. Our efforts have extended beyond just organizing fellowships and events. We've also dedicated time to personal meetings and team-building activities, fostering a stronger sense of connection within our team.

More awareness.
We've been diligently working to increase awareness about JVA, aiming to connect with more ambitious students in Tokyo through SNS. While we haven't hit all our targets yet, we're proud to share some noteworthy achievements.
Our LinkedIn presence has grown impressively, now boasting over 1,500 followers. On Instagram, we've captivated an audience of more than 500 people. And this very newsletter has reached 150 subscribers and continues to grow. We aim to bring together like-minded people from various backgrounds who share a common interest in startups.
Events
In addition to our fellowship program, we've successfully organized six events, connecting with professionals and other student organizations. Our range of events has been diverse and enriching, from design-thinking workshops to a startup internship fair. Each event has been crafted to offer valuable experiences and learning opportunities.
Fellowship
Fellowship remains the cornerstone of our endeavors at JVA. We have proudly completed two cohorts, with 24 students graduating, now equipped with practical skills to drive change. Our structured approach involved 7 teams, each guided by a dedicated coach, culminating in the development of 7 unique startup ideas. These ideas were then showcased to a broad audience, highlighting our students' creativity and hard work.
Our students have not only succeeded in forming strong connections among themselves but have also actively engaged with diverse entities in Tokyo's startup ecosystem. This blend of teamwork, real-world interaction, and hands-on learning is what sets our program apart, equipping our students with the skills and insights needed to navigate the dynamic world of startups.
If you're interested in having the same experience, you can pre-apply to our program:
